About FMGE Exam

Understanding FMGE – Foreign Medical Graduate Examination

FMGE (Foreign medical and graduate exam), Also known as the Screening test for the Foreign medical graduate has been introduced through Screening Test Regulations,2002. FMGE is a qualifying exam conducted by the National Board of Examinations in india. This licensure exam in INDIA for indian students and overseas citizens in India who have obtained their primary medical qualification from medical institutions outside india and wish to practice medicine in India. NBE has set the cut-off of FMG at 50%, i.e, a candidate will be required to obtain at least 150 out of 300 marks to qualify for the exam to practice medicine in this country. For every correct answer, one mark will be awarded (there is no negative mark for incorrect answer).

FMGE EXAM ensures that foreign-trained doctors meet the standards required to practice medicine in India. Qualifying the FMG is essential for practicing and pursuing postgraduate medical education in India.

Understanding the NEXT Exam – Key Details & Benefits

Next or National exit test is an upcoming mandatory examination for MBBS graduates in India, designed to serve both as a licensure test for medical practice and as a qualifying exam for postgraduate (PG) medical admissions. Just as FMGE, all medical graduates who have completed MBBS IN ABROAD need to clear NATIONAL EXIT TEST within to two years of their MBBS. This is because NEXT is set to replace the NEET-PG and FMGE exams , that till now, was the licentiate exam for practicing in India.
